Megadeth是開(kāi)創(chuàng)美國(guó)Thrash Metal重要樂(lè)隊(duì)之一，由樂(lè)隊(duì)的核心人物Dave Mustaine于1983年被Metallica 開(kāi)除后建立的，作為一支成功的樂(lè)隊(duì)，Megadeth在全球賣(mài)出超過(guò)2000萬(wàn)張專(zhuān)輯，連續(xù)5張白金銷(xiāo)量專(zhuān)輯以及7 次格萊美Best Metal Performance提名。
Megadeth同Anthrax,Slayer和Metallica并稱(chēng)為"Big Four of Thrash"樂(lè)隊(duì)。這支樂(lè)隊(duì)至今已經(jīng)發(fā)行了11張錄音室專(zhuān)輯，6張現(xiàn)場(chǎng)專(zhuān)輯，2張EP以及2張精選專(zhuān)輯，曾獲得格萊美獎(jiǎng)提名。
樂(lè)隊(duì)成立之后成員變動(dòng)頻繁，2002年，Dave Mustaine的左臂受傷，使得樂(lè)隊(duì)一度解散過(guò)，但經(jīng)過(guò)治療之后，樂(lè)隊(duì)在2004年又重新成立并發(fā)行新專(zhuān)輯《The System Has Failed》,2007年樂(lè)隊(duì)又發(fā)行了新專(zhuān)輯《United Abominations》,2009年發(fā)行新專(zhuān)輯《Endgame》.2011年發(fā)布新專(zhuān)輯《Th1rt3en》。
演繹經(jīng)歷
Dave Mustaine原先是Metallica的主音吉他手，由于吸毒以及酗酒等原因，被Metallica開(kāi)除出了樂(lè)隊(duì)，1983年的夏天，Dave Mustaine在被Metallica開(kāi)除后幾個(gè)月后，同貝斯手David Ellefson,吉他Greg Handevidt以及鼓手Dijon Carruthers組建了新樂(lè)隊(duì)Megadeth.Mustaine曾說(shuō)："自從我被開(kāi)除出Metallica后，我就下決心組建一支我自己的樂(lè)隊(duì)，我要比他們更加快，更加重！"的確如此，"Mechanix"是Dave Mustaine在Metallica時(shí)期的作品，這首歌在Metallica中叫做"The Four Horsemen",Megadeth把這首重新編曲了，使得速度比Metallica更加的快，同時(shí)也重新寫(xiě)了歌詞，并把名字改為"Mechanix",很明顯這是向Metallica宣戰(zhàn)，事實(shí)上，Dave Mustaine組建Megadeth的目的就是要與Metallica競(jìng)爭(zhēng).Dave Mustaine起初并不想擔(dān)任樂(lè)隊(duì)的主唱，但Dave Mustaine苦苦尋找6個(gè)月都沒(méi)有找到中意的主唱，于是Dave Mustaine決定自己擔(dān)任主唱，他同時(shí)還是樂(lè)隊(duì)的創(chuàng)作者，吉他手，他的獨(dú)特的唱腔以及高超的吉他技術(shù)使得成為樂(lè)隊(duì)的靈魂人物.在樂(lè)隊(duì)初期，Lee Rausch很快取代Dijon Carruthers成為樂(lè)隊(duì)新鼓手，錄制了《Last Rites/Loved to Death》,《Skull Beneath the Skin》和《Mechanix》小樣之后，吉他手Greg Handevidt則離開(kāi)樂(lè)隊(duì)加入Kublai Khan(忽必烈),在一些演出中，Kerry King曾臨時(shí)擔(dān)任了吉他手，1984年，Lee Rausch離開(kāi)樂(lè)隊(duì)，新鼓手Gar Samuelson加入.憑借3首小樣，與紐約獨(dú)立廠牌Combat Records簽約，12月，Chris Poland加入樂(lè)隊(duì)。
1985年初，樂(lè)隊(duì)得到Combat Records給的大約8000美元開(kāi)始錄制和制作第一張專(zhuān)輯，但是有一半的錢(qián)被他們拿去吸毒以及喝酒去了，無(wú)奈之下他們解雇了制作人，自己操刀制作專(zhuān)輯.盡管如此，1985年5月，新專(zhuān)輯《Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!》順利得到發(fā)行，并且得到不錯(cuò)的評(píng)價(jià).在這張專(zhuān)輯中，Dave Mustaine包辦了全部作品，除了一首翻唱Nancy Sinatra的"These Boots Are Made For Walking",專(zhuān)輯中叫做"These Boots" 外，不過(guò)Lee Hazlewood("These Boots Are Made For Walking"的作者)對(duì)Dave Mustaine翻唱并且改了歌名非常不滿(mǎn)，強(qiáng)烈要求Megadeth在他們專(zhuān)輯中刪去這首，因此1995年后發(fā)行的《Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!》中刪去了這首，不過(guò)2002年再次發(fā)行的時(shí)候又收錄了這首。
1985年夏季，Megadeth聯(lián)合Exciter開(kāi)始在美國(guó)以及加拿大開(kāi)始樂(lè)隊(duì)第一次的巡演，這次巡演期間，Chris Poland突然離開(kāi)樂(lè)隊(duì)，Mike Albert取代Chris Poland加入Megadeth,10月份時(shí)候，Chris Poland又重新回到樂(lè)隊(duì)，并開(kāi)始準(zhǔn)備第2張專(zhuān)輯。
這張專(zhuān)輯在1986年3月份初步完成，當(dāng)時(shí)Megadeth還在Combat Records旗下，因?yàn)橹谱鹘?jīng)費(fèi)緊張，導(dǎo)致Megadeth對(duì)剛完成的這張專(zhuān)輯的效果感到不滿(mǎn)意，為了制作更好的專(zhuān)輯以及得到更多的制作經(jīng)費(fèi)，Megadeth轉(zhuǎn)簽到了Capitol Records,同時(shí)Capitol Records得到了《Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?》專(zhuān)輯的版權(quán)，新制作人Paul Lani對(duì)這張專(zhuān)輯重新制作和混音之后，在1986年11月發(fā)行了第2張專(zhuān)輯《Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?》,這張專(zhuān)輯日后成為Megadeth經(jīng)典專(zhuān)輯之一，也是Thrash Metal奠基級(jí)別的專(zhuān)輯，All Music Guide評(píng)價(jià)這張專(zhuān)輯是這10年間最有影響力專(zhuān)輯之一以及對(duì)Thrash Metal做出了重大貢獻(xiàn).不久專(zhuān)輯中的"Peace Sells"成為樂(lè)隊(duì)第1個(gè)MV,并在MTV的Headbangers Ball中播放，VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs中，"Peace Sells"排到第11位。
1987年2月，Megadeth跟隨Alice Cooper的Constrictor Tour,為Alice Cooper開(kāi)場(chǎng)，此后又同Mercyful Fate一起進(jìn)行了短暫的巡演，3月，Megadeth開(kāi)始第1次全球巡演，與Overkill和Necros一同在英國(guó)開(kāi)始巡演。7月，在夏威夷的演出結(jié)束后，Gar Samuelson和Chris Poland被開(kāi)除出樂(lè)隊(duì)，Chuck Behler成為樂(lè)隊(duì)新鼓手，Jeff Young成為樂(lè)隊(duì)新吉他手。
1988年1月19日，Megadeth發(fā)行第3張專(zhuān)輯《So Far,So Good... So What!》,專(zhuān)輯中的"In My Darkest Hour"是為了紀(jì)念因車(chē)禍去世的Metallica貝斯手，同時(shí)也是Dave Mustaine的好友Cliff Burton的，Megadeth此后的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)幾乎都會(huì)演唱"In My Darkest Hour".在這專(zhuān)輯里Megadeth還翻唱了Sex Pistols的"Anarchy in the UK"。
1988年6月，Megadeth出現(xiàn)在Penelope Spheeris的記錄片《The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years》的結(jié)束部分，這部記錄片主要講述了洛衫磯地區(qū)的重金屬發(fā)展情況，不過(guò)大部份是介紹Glam Metal的。
在新專(zhuān)輯發(fā)行不久，Megadeth開(kāi)始準(zhǔn)備So Far,So Good...巡演，1988年2月在歐洲為Dio開(kāi)場(chǎng)，此后加入 Iron Maiden的Seventh Son of a Seventh Son北美夏季巡演。
1988年8月，在英國(guó)Castle Donnington的Monsters of Rock搖滾節(jié)，Megadeth同Kiss,Iron Maiden,Guns N' Roses和David Lee Roth同臺(tái)，現(xiàn)場(chǎng)觀眾超過(guò)10萬(wàn)人，Megadeth原本完成Monsters of Rock歐洲巡演的，但最終在英國(guó)這一場(chǎng)演出后退出，并且開(kāi)除Chuck Behler和Jeff Young以及取消澳大利亞的巡演。
1989年7月，Nick Menza加入樂(lè)隊(duì)成為新鼓手，但這時(shí)候依然沒(méi)有找到吉他手，只有3個(gè)人的Megadeth翻錄了Alice Cooper的《No More Mr. Nice Guy》,被收錄在Wes Craven的電影Shocker原聲帶中，Dave Mustaine這期間又因超速駕駛被捕并且發(fā)現(xiàn)吸毒，接受強(qiáng)制戒毒。
1990年2月，Marty Friedman加入Megadeth,Marty Friedman的加入，使得Megadeth重新煥發(fā)活力，在制作人Mike Clink的幫助下，1990年9月24日，樂(lè)隊(duì)發(fā)行了里程碑式新專(zhuān)輯Rust in Peace,日后證明這張專(zhuān)輯是Megadeth最為成功的專(zhuān)輯之一，在1990年的The Billboard 200上最高排到第23名，獲得1991到1992年度格萊美 Best Metal Performance提名.
同時(shí)，在9月份Megadeth與Slayer,Testament和Suicidal Tendencies一同進(jìn)行"Clash of the Titans"的歐洲巡演，并給Judas Priest的Painkiller巡演開(kāi)場(chǎng).1991年1月，Megadeth參加了在巴西的Rock in Rio II,現(xiàn)場(chǎng)觀眾達(dá)到14萬(wàn)了人！5月，"Clash of the Titans"巡演在美國(guó)展開(kāi)，連同還有Slayer和，Anthrax,Alice in Chains為其開(kāi)場(chǎng).7月，單曲"Go To Hell"被收錄在電影Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey原聲帶中，"Breakpoint" 也被Super Mario Bros原聲帶收錄，1991年，Megadeth還發(fā)行了第1部家庭錄影帶Rusted Pieces,里面是一些MV以及樂(lè)隊(duì)的介紹等等。
1992年1月，Megadeth進(jìn)入位于加州Burbank的Enterprise錄音室，開(kāi)始錄制新專(zhuān)輯，該專(zhuān)輯的制作人是Max Norman,樂(lè)隊(duì)花了4個(gè)月完成了新專(zhuān)輯，名為Countdown to Extinction,在1992年7月14日發(fā)行，這張專(zhuān)輯獲得更大的成功，在1992年的The Billboard 200上最高排到了第2,值得一提的是，這張專(zhuān)輯，樂(lè)隊(duì)四個(gè)成員全部參與了創(chuàng)作。1992年11月，發(fā)行第2張家庭錄影帶《Exposure of a Dream》。
1992年12月，Megadeth開(kāi)始Countdown to Extinction世界巡演，Pantera和Suicidal Tendencies加入該巡演中來(lái).1993年1月則和Stone Temple Pilots一同巡演，不過(guò)在美國(guó)巡演后，剩下的行程計(jì)劃取消了，包括去日本的巡演。
1993年6月，Megadeth作為嘉賓出現(xiàn)在Metallica的Milton Keynes Bowl Festival上，這是10年中，第一次和Metallica同臺(tái).7月，加入Aerosmith的Get A Grip全美巡演，由于合約上的一些爭(zhēng)端，僅僅7天后就退出巡演.在取消巡演后，樂(lè)隊(duì)開(kāi)始錄制單曲"99 Ways to Die",之后收錄在 The Beavis and Butt-Head Experience中，在1995年獲得格萊美Best Metal Performance提名。
Youthanasia巡演結(jié)束后，Mustaine同Lee Ving,Kelly LeMieux和Jimmy DeGrasso 計(jì)劃M(mǎn)D.45樂(lè)隊(duì)，并在1996年7月發(fā)行專(zhuān)輯《The Craving》。
1996年9月，Megadeth前往Nashville錄制新專(zhuān)輯，這張專(zhuān)輯起初叫為Needles and Pins,但最終又改為Cryptic Writings,該專(zhuān)輯在1997年7月17日發(fā)行，制作人為Dann Huff和Dave Mustaine,在此專(zhuān)輯的創(chuàng)作中，他們運(yùn)用了合成器。但由于改變了風(fēng)格，并不為廣大歌迷認(rèn)同。
1997年6月，Megadeth開(kāi)始了巡演，The Misfits為其開(kāi)場(chǎng)，此后還有Life of Agony以及Coal Chamber加入巡演中。1998年7月，Megadeth參加Ozzfest 1998,在巡演途中，鼓手Nick Menza因?yàn)橄ドw傷疼，臨時(shí)退出樂(lè)隊(duì)，Jimmy DeGrasso臨時(shí)頂替了，不過(guò)后來(lái)取代Nick Menza,成為正式鼓手。
1999年1月，Megadeth開(kāi)始錄制新專(zhuān)輯，制作人依然是Dann Huff,依然在Nashville.該專(zhuān)輯叫做Risk,1999年8月31日發(fā)行這張專(zhuān)輯一改以往Thrash Metal的鮮明特征，大量運(yùn)用了弦樂(lè)，使歌曲缺乏力度，導(dǎo)致這張專(zhuān)輯并不成功，并讓廣大歌迷有所失望。9月開(kāi)始全球巡演.在歐洲部分是和Iron Maiden一起的，不過(guò)這時(shí)候樂(lè)隊(duì)極為重要的吉他手Marty Friedman退出Megadeth.Dave Mustaine說(shuō)："我對(duì)Marty Friedman說(shuō)，我們?cè)赗isk巡演結(jié)束后，我們重新玩金屬，可是Marty Friedman卻退出樂(lè)隊(duì)了."Marty Friedman離開(kāi)之后，在2000年1月，Al Pitrelli加入樂(lè)隊(duì)，頂替Marty Friedman,曾是Savatage,Alice Cooper吉他手.并且之后翻唱了Black Sabbath的"Never Say Die",被收錄在向黑色安息日致敬專(zhuān)輯《Nativity in Black II: A Tribute to Black Sabbath》中。4月，Megadeth進(jìn)入錄音室，不過(guò)沒(méi)多久，便和Anthrax和Motley Crue一起進(jìn)行“Maximum Rock” 巡演，所以錄新專(zhuān)輯也擱淺了下來(lái)。10月，離開(kāi)呆了14年的Capitol Records,以一張精選專(zhuān)輯《Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years》作為在Capitol Records的終點(diǎn)。
2000年11月，Megadeth加入Sanctuary Records.2001年5月15日發(fā)行新專(zhuān)輯The World Needs a Hero,在繼Risk的失敗之后，樂(lè)隊(duì)又重新回到原有的風(fēng)格。此后開(kāi)始了巡演.夏天在歐洲同AC/DC一起，9月和Iced Earth以及Endo在北美巡演，由于9.11事件,剩余的巡演被削減了，包括原計(jì)劃在阿根廷錄制DVD現(xiàn)場(chǎng)的，最后只好在Arizona州的兩晚現(xiàn)場(chǎng)來(lái)代替，即之后的Rude Awakening,這是Megadeth首張現(xiàn)場(chǎng)專(zhuān)輯以及現(xiàn)場(chǎng)DVD.2002年2月，經(jīng)過(guò)重新混音的《Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!》再版，相比首版的音質(zhì)要好多了。3月19日，現(xiàn)場(chǎng)專(zhuān)輯《Rude Awakening》發(fā)行。4月3日，Dave Mustaine左臂因患上Saturday Night Palsy(周末夜臂麻痹癥候群)導(dǎo)致不能彈琴，宣布Megadeth解散，Dave Mustaine隨之進(jìn)行治療，通過(guò)物理治療，Dave的手臂有所好轉(zhuǎn)。
2002年9月10日，發(fā)行一張精選專(zhuān)輯《Still Alive... And Well?》該專(zhuān)輯的封面是一個(gè)墓碑，上面刻著1985-2002,前6首是現(xiàn)場(chǎng)(2001年11月7日在鳳凰城Web Theatre)。
經(jīng)過(guò)1年多的治療，Dave Mustaine的左臂明顯好轉(zhuǎn)了，期間對(duì)Megadeth從前的專(zhuān)輯進(jìn)行了重新混音。2004年5月，Dave Mustaine開(kāi)始進(jìn)入錄音室，Dave Mustaine原本想自己?jiǎn)胃傻?，但是與唱片公司還有合約，于是Dave Mustaine決定重組Megadeth來(lái)發(fā)行新專(zhuān)輯，但是新Megadeth的成員全部換了，此前一直在樂(lè)隊(duì)的David Ellefson 也離開(kāi)了，Dave Mustaine召集了原來(lái)的吉他手Chris Poland,貝斯Jimmy Sloas以及鼓手Vinnie Colaiuta一起錄制了新專(zhuān)輯《The System Has Failed》,該專(zhuān)輯在2004年9月14日發(fā)行。10月份，Dave Mustaine決定開(kāi)始Blackmail the Universe巡演，為了巡演，Dave Mustaine招募了貝斯手James MacDonough(Iced Earth),Glen Drover(Eidolon,King Diamond),最后Nick Menza再次回到樂(lè)隊(duì)，回到樂(lè)隊(duì)僅5天，就被Shawn Drover(Glen Drover兄弟，加拿大Eidolon的鼓手)頂替了，和Megadeth一起巡演的是Exodus,到達(dá)歐洲后，與Diamond Head和Dungeon一同巡演。
2005年6月28日，Capitol Records發(fā)行了Megadeth前8張專(zhuān)輯的精選，《Greatest Hits: Back to the Start》。
2005年夏天，Megadeth開(kāi)始Gigantour,連同Dream Theater,Anthrax,Fear Factory,Dillinger Escape Plan,Nevermore,Life of Agony,Symphony X,Dry Kill Logic和Bobaflex.一起參加了各大搖滾節(jié).10月份，Megadeth來(lái)到阿根廷，參加了Pepsi Music Rock Festival,賣(mài)光了門(mén)票，受到了極大的歡迎。
2006年2月，James Lomenzo代替James MacDonough,成為Megadeth貝斯手，James Lomenzo曾是James Lomenzo,White Lion以及Black Label Society的成員.新陣容的Megadeth,在2006年3月16日，在阿聯(lián)酋Dubai Desert Rock Festival上首次露面，一同的還有Testament和3 Doors Down。3月21日，Capitol Records發(fā)行一張DVD,叫Arsenal of Megadeth,這張DVD里包括了Megadeth的一些現(xiàn)場(chǎng)，訪談以及MV。

Megadeth樂(lè)隊(duì)的新專(zhuān)輯《Endgame》發(fā)行于2009年9月15日，是迄今為止Megadeth最重、最快的一張專(zhuān)輯，市場(chǎng)普遍反響較好。上市一周以來(lái)在美國(guó)境內(nèi)的銷(xiāo)量已經(jīng)達(dá)到了4萬(wàn)5千余張。這在實(shí)體唱片銷(xiāo)量不景氣，而且藝人們紛紛開(kāi)始通過(guò)網(wǎng)絡(luò)發(fā)行的當(dāng)下已經(jīng)是一個(gè)非常不俗的成績(jī)。他們的上一張專(zhuān)輯《United Abominations》的首周銷(xiāo)量是5萬(wàn)四千張，在《公告牌》前兩百名的排名中名列第八。他們的專(zhuān)輯《The System Has Failed》也曾在《公告牌》取得過(guò)18名的成績(jī)，而首周銷(xiāo)量最高的專(zhuān)輯則是2001年發(fā)表的《The World Needs A Hero》，首周銷(xiāo)量為6萬(wàn)1千張。

Megadeth is an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, shortly after Mustaine's dismissal from Metallica. A pioneer of the American thrash metal scene, the band is credited as one of the genre's "big four" with Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer, responsible for thrash metal's development and popularization. Megadeth plays in a technical style, featuring fast rhythm sections and complex arrangements. Themes of death, war, politics and religion are prominent in the group's lyrics.
In 1985, the band released its debut album on the independent label Combat Records. The album's moderate commercial success caught the attention of bigger labels, which led to Megadeth signing with Capitol Records. Their first major-label album, ‘Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?’, was released in 1986 and influenced the underground metal scene. Despite its prominence in thrash metal, frequent disputes between its members and substance abuse issues brought Megadeth negative publicity during this period.
After the lineup stabilized, the band released a number of platinum-selling albums, including ‘Rust in Peace’ (1990) and ‘Countdown to Extinction’ (1992). These albums, along with touring worldwide, helped bring public recognition to Megadeth. The band temporarily disbanded in 2002 when Mustaine suffered an arm injury and re-established in 2004 without bassist Ellefson, who had taken legal action against Mustaine. Ellefson settled with Mustaine out of court and rejoined the group in 2010. Megadeth has hosted its own music festival, Gigantour, several times since mid-2005.
As of 2014, Megadeth has sold 50 million records worldwide, earned platinum certification in the United States for five of its fifteen studio albums, and received eleven Grammy nominations. The band's mascot, Vic Rattlehead, regularly appears on album artwork and, since 2010, in live shows. The group has experienced controversy over its musical approach and lyrics, including canceled concerts and album bans. MTV has refused to play two of the band's videos that the network considered to condone suicide.
The band encountered several setbacks through the second half of 2014. The August concert in Tel Aviv was canceled due to an armed conflict between Israel and Gaza.Megadeth was scheduled to appear on Motörhead's Motörboat cruise in late September, but withdrew because of Mustaine's complications following his cervical spine surgery.In late November, Drover quit the band after ten years, wanting to pursue his own musical interests. This was quickly followed by the departure of Broderick, due to artistic and musical differences. Ellefson denied rumors that Megadeth would disband, and said he and Mustaine would continue working on new music. Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler and guitarist Kiko Loureiro of Angra performed on Megadeth's fifteenth studio album. Mustaine said that one of the reasons for Broderick's and Drover's departure was the frustration caused by Megadeth's fan base demanding a reunion with Friedman and Menza.
In October 2015, Megadeth streamed "Fatal Illusion" off the album ‘Dystopia’, which was released in January 2016. In support of Dystopia, Megadeth embarked on a North American tour in February and March with Suicidal Tendencies, Children of Bodom and Havok. Menza died from a heart attack in May while performing with OHM at a jazz club in Los Angeles. Mustaine announced that Adler, who performed double duty drumming, was no longer in the band because of scheduling conflicts between Megadeth and Lamb of God. He was replaced by Dirk Verbeuren from Soilwork, on Adler's recommendation. A second US tour is planned for September and October with Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, and Havok. Speaking to All About The Rock Dirk has said "We’ve already discussed the next album and Dave asked me to contribute ideas, so I’m more than a little excited to see what I can come up with".
