Sonic Tribe

Sonic Tribe 音速部落 是獨立廠牌 Soundings of the Planet 旗下的一個組合，成員有笛手 Dean Evenson、吉他手 Scott Huckabay、歌手 Gina Sala、負責(zé)打擊樂器的 Greg Callahan。Trance 吉他，昂揚的長笛，異國情調(diào)的人聲以及澳洲didgeridoo長管和非洲djembe鼓一起創(chuàng)造了豐富多彩神秘莫測的音樂。

　　Ethnic Fusion 民族混合一般是建立在 New Age 音樂的聲音和哲學(xué)之上，是將傳統(tǒng)的各民族音樂融入當(dāng)代的電子音樂中，以期在西方的偏重技術(shù)和自然與民族的文化間找到一種和諧與平衡。爵士音樂家 Tony Scott 和 Don Cherry 可能是第一次將世界音樂合成到西方音樂體裁中；Jon Hassell 的著名的音樂拓寬了這些 Ethnic Fusion 實驗的范圍，并由此在70年代促成了這種音樂類型，后來他又在80年代早期和Ambient的先驅(qū) Brian Eno 進行合作。漸漸地，這種音樂類型成了當(dāng)代諸多敢于冒險的器樂家們借用新鮮的節(jié)奏和非西方的樂器來拓寬自身音樂領(lǐng)域的一種樂衷的方式，而另外一些人則是在獨特的民族音樂中加入當(dāng)代器樂或是新世紀(jì)音樂的成分。后者的藝術(shù)家如 Clannad 家族樂團（凱爾特民謠）、Ottmar Liebert（弗拉門哥）、Kitaro 喜多郎（日本傳統(tǒng)音樂）和 R. Sonic Tribe's unique and rhythmic ethnic fusion is a result of the various upbringings of the five musicians in the group. Consisting of members Beth Quist, Gina Sala, Greg Callahan, Dean Evenson and Scott Huckabay, the group blends the dreamy feel of New Age music with the exotic beats of world music. Their debut, Sonic Tribe, came out in 2000 and made a splash in the yoga world due to the album's relaxing tones and soothing feel. 2002's Spirit Rising was a success in the New Age press, which praised the group for their groovy blend of genres.
