by Alvaro NederNelson ?ngelo started his professional career in 1966 connected with a group of composers from Minas Gerais known as Clube da Esquina, having had his "Fazenda" included by Milton Nascimento on his Clube da Esquina. With Nascimento, ?ngelo wrote "Sacramento," included on Milagres dos Peixes, and "Testamento" on Clube da Esquina No. 2. In 1967, ?ngelo moved to Rio de Janeiro where he continued to perform at several different venues. As a sideman for artists like Tom Jobim, Miúcha, Alaíde Costa, Sarah Vaughan, Elis Regina, Sérgio Mendes, Luís E?a, Luiz Bonfá, Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, and Edu Lobo, ?ngelo performed in France, England, Norway, Mexico, U.S., Uruguay, and Belgium and/or recorded several albums. With Cacaso, ?ngelo wrote the musical Táxi and 50 songs. In Paris where he lived, ?ngelo recorded Mineiro Pau and Naná Vasconcelos, Nelson ?ngelo & Novelli (1974).
