M. Ward

馬修·斯蒂芬·沃德，藝名M. Ward， 是來(lái)自美國(guó)的歌手和吉他手，也是美國(guó)獨(dú)立流行樂(lè)隊(duì) She & Him 和民謠樂(lè)隊(duì) Monsters of Folk 的主要成員。
沃德最喜愛(ài)的歌曲是“Amazing Grace” （中文翻譯為《奇異恩典》，也有人稱(chēng)《天賜恩寵》）。他的贊助商是Gibson Guitars ,他使用的吉他就是該公司出產(chǎn)的Johnny A。 他的父親很喜歡Johnny Cash，母親則是個(gè)古典音樂(lè)愛(ài)好者，因此他在成長(zhǎng)過(guò)程中受鄉(xiāng)村音樂(lè)和古典音樂(lè)的影響比較大。
1999年，他的首個(gè)專(zhuān)輯 Duet for Guitars #2, 由 Howe Gelb出品。01年他發(fā)行了自己的專(zhuān)輯End of Amnesia，出品方是Future Farmer Records。他參與過(guò)許多樂(lè)隊(duì)專(zhuān)輯和單曲的錄制，編曲，如Cat Power, Neko Case, Beth Orton, The Court & Spark, Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis , and My Morning Jacket.
2005年，他參與了Burtch, Lytle 和 Fairchild 組織的一個(gè)項(xiàng)目 Arizona Amp and Alternator。

沃德還曾是樂(lè)隊(duì) Rodriguez 的一員，他們的作品有wing Like a Metronome。他的另一個(gè)樂(lè)隊(duì) Monsters of Folk, 也出版了同名專(zhuān)輯。
After a six-year stint with the trio Rodriguez, M. Ward began sketching out songs deeply rooted in the classic traditions of American country-folk. Rodriguezs home was in San Luis Obispo, CA, and they eventually recorded Swing Like a Metronome with Granddaddys Jason Lytle. Wards first solo effort came in the form of Duet for Guitars #2, which was written and recorded with the help of John King while Ward was living between Chicago and various locales on the West Coast. Eventually, Duets for Guitars #2 was placed in the hands of the ever-enigmatic Giant Stand mastermind Howe Gelb, who released it on his own Ow Om Recordings in the fall of 2000. The record enjoyed favorable reviews and a considerable amount of attention in underground rock circles and Ward supported it with a handful tours throughout the United States and Europe. His follow up, End of Amnesia, was released on Future Farmer in 2001. In 2003 he signed with Merge and released Transfiguration of Vincent, followed by Transistor Radio in 2005.
