Once upon a time jazz was BIG. It was the 'Swing' era of the big bands, whose sounds enticed thousands onto vast dance floors. A time when Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald sung in bands, when Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Chick Webb and Count Basie, who all make appearances here, set the scene for the riotous swing of the hedonistic and celebratory Great Gatsby Jazz Age. In 2007 a collective going by the moniker of G-Swing, a gathering of remixers at the heart of the action, have re-invented a dance-floor-oriented swing for the new millennium that is house, electro, beaty, bouncey and jazzy all at once. Deploying original samples as jumping-off points, G Swing features the original vocals of Ella Fitzgerald, The Mills Bros. and Josephine Baker, special guests such as electro-princess Ania & Pedro Almodovar's incredible muse, Rossy De Palma. Inspired remixers such as Romain BNO, Lindstrom, Ludovic Allen, Jimi Bazzooka/Joakim & Itchy Mango present A COMPILATION OF TOTALLY REINVENTED SWING HITS cooked up in their respective studios. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.
