DJ PROFILE
· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·
My main profession is beeing a broadcast jounalist at the radiostation "Funkhaus Europa / Radio Bremen".
At the same time I am active every weekend in various clubs as a dj.
75% of my time I am booked as a worldmusic dj, 25 % as a black music dj.

Within the worldmusic emphasis my program covers four different areas
· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·
GLOBAL BEAT LOUNGE
presented in cafés, foyers or similar locations, without a dancefloor.
Even if a dancefloor is avaible, it is not frequented by the guests during my gigs, since the music is not quite danceable.
I present midtempo global beats (modern worldmusic), which creates an interesting background sound and allowes visitors to have a relaxed conversation in a pleasant environment.
In addition to a moderate volume as well as a consciously alternate-rich repertoire from all areas of the modern world music, I keep the number of traditional titles very small.
I’m trying to remain on the same bpm during a longer period of time (approx. 90 min.) in order to possibly harmonize the pulsefrequency of the guests.

WORLDBEAT DANCEFLOOR
frequently I am booked as DJ, in order to expose the venue to sounds of a so-called world music event.
Usually I don’t have to explain to the organizers the fact that I play only very little traditional material, instead I prefer rather modern fusion titles, which I experience as more up-to-date.
The more puristic world music audience thereby gets less out of it, but this mixture pleases visitors, for whom world music is musical new grounds, the average age of guests is 30 plus.
I only play two, max. three titles from a region consecutively, then will change so that everyone notices that we just went from one continent to another.
The tracks don’t blend into oneanother, particularly not with change of style.
The speed of the individual tracks is as different as the origin of the titles, but they have all a high groovefactor and animate to dancing.

GLOBAL ELECTRONICA CLUB
The electronic version of the world music, thus Asian Underground, Brazil DNB, Latin House, Afrotronique, Chicano Hip Hop, Dub, Kwaito, Eastern Electronics, Oriental House, Brazilectro, AfroHouse etc..
The number of clubs in Germany, which particularly present "global electronica" is still very limited.
The audience is usually under thirty, hangs out in clubs a lot, consists of large sections of young university graduates, often second generation imigrants.
The vision of a House or a Drum n bass club is shifted to Latin America, Africa, Asia or into the Orient.
The titles are mixed and the dynamic frequenzes are longer.
It is possible to present Oriental House for longer time, in order to then change to Afro House.
The audience reacts primarily on the housebeat and then to the exotic harmony line.

WORLDMUSIC
On demand of organizers I also present a complete program of a special style within a category.
Usually I suggest cooperating with a dj from the respective cultural comunity to ensure that local customers are satisfied.
I arrange evenings regularly with the following themes: Bollywood, Bossa Nova, Latino Nuevo, Afrotronique, Oriental etc.
Contacts with community djs are available.
