SYMBIANCE has been around for almost ten years now, known by many names. Music and friendship accompanied them from their youthful early days in the Bavarian countryside to what some call adulthood. At least those, who measure time in years. Their music embeds the variety of their personality: The anarchic humor of the teenage boys skipping school to play their music. The poetic melancholy of those, who have experienced sorrow together. The eye of widely traveled wanderes, always in search of people and their stories.
Their new studio album ?Songs From The City, Hymns To The Country“ is a musical road movie, a journey past forests, vast mountain ranges, oceans and sleeping cities. From the gentle 5/4 opener ?North“ to the bittersweet title track ?Songs From The City“, from the almost punkish ?Ivory Republic“ to the tender and intimate ?Upside Down, Downside Up“, from the rough ?Trans Siberia“ to the touching ?Rise And The Fall“, which almost sounds like a britpop version of José Gonzales, from the Drone Rock instrumental ?Anthropogenia“ to the monumental anthem ?Ljubljana 225“ with its epic finale: There is nothing missing on this journey. Yet it's always Symbiance and their everlasting search for the unsaid: Combining the lyrical bitterness of the restless city and the rough poetry of the forgotten hinterland. Crisp guitas, pearly pianos and a haunting voice: An exceptional Indie Pop album, with postrock elements and a good amount of singer/songwriter melancholy. Expect the unexpected and await it!
