Minit

by Chris TrueAn atmospheric post-rock duo, Minit was formed by Jasmine Guffond and Torben Tilly in 1997 in Sydney, Australia. Over the years, the pair would add live performance and installation work to their resume, as well as releasing a number of records for a handful of labels. Working with Tonshact (with which they released a seven inch EP) and Sigma (1999's full length, Music), Minit developed their work, culminating in the well received 2004 album on Pavone, Now Right Here. As time wore on, Minit -- which fit in nicely next to the rise of atmospheric post rock a la Kranky Records in the early part of the 21st century -- would add to their live show, incorporating more instrumentation. The pair would later make their base of operations in the decidedly more experimental music friendly Berlin, Germany.
