Carina Round

Carina Round 1979年出生于英國(guó)烏味罕普頓的低希爾地區(qū)的一個(gè)意大利家庭。生活貧苦，周圍的環(huán)境也很糟糕，對(duì)她來(lái)說(shuō)唯一能作為營(yíng)養(yǎng)補(bǔ)給的就是她媽媽收藏的一些專輯—Led Zeppelin，Nine Simone和Roxy Music....她祖父喜歡唱歌，使得在學(xué)校讀書的Carine也受到感染因而時(shí)常逃課在家，躲在衣櫥里，直到媽媽出去工作，然后一個(gè)人呆在家里聽(tīng)音樂(lè)。聽(tīng)著聽(tīng)著她就會(huì)提高分貝聲嘶力竭的跟著唱機(jī)一起唱，這樣的行為引來(lái)鄰居和學(xué)校的極度不滿，可是她似乎毫不在乎。在她看來(lái)Physical graffiti才是教她應(yīng)該學(xué)什么的老師。 　　 　　96年夏天，carina得到了一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)能在伯明翰的一個(gè)地下音樂(lè)酒吧演出三個(gè)晚上，從此她便開(kāi)始了自己的酒吧唱歌生涯。到99年時(shí)，她幾乎在英國(guó)所有酒吧演出過(guò)，并與David Gray，Miles Hunt，Ben Christophers，Mark Eitzel，Cousteau...等人合作。 　　 　　Carine與貝司手Simon Smith,鼓手Marous Galley組成樂(lè)隊(duì)。他們首次合作是在COLDPLAY伯明翰音樂(lè)節(jié)的演出上，而這次演出之后她便被制作人Gavin Monaghan發(fā)現(xiàn)并直接進(jìn)入錄音棚，短短的10天時(shí)間就完成了她的首張專輯。Carina以她天生陰冷嗓音和強(qiáng)烈的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)表現(xiàn)力出色的詮釋了這張專輯。 　　 　　03年10月她的第二張專輯《the disconnection》出爐，與第一張專輯有所不同，這張顯得柔和很多。 　　 　　有人將carina round和PJ harvey相比較，確實(shí)，他們一樣是個(gè)性派的女聲，也有相似的尖利，但是carina還有著the smith的低郁以及她所獨(dú)有的那份桀驁和堅(jiān)強(qiáng)........
Singer/songwriter Carina Round got her start with a short stint at Birmingham's famed Ronnie Scott's club in 1996. Within a few years, she gained attention through support billings for the likes of Mark Eitzel, David Gray, the Wonder Stuff's Miles Hunt, and most notably Ryan Adams, who wrote a couple of songs with Round and performed them with her accompaniment during a couple of London shows. Hooking up with the rhythm section of drummer Marcus Galley and double bassist Simon Smith, the trio performed a number of dates before heading into the studio to record 2001's The First Blood Mystery, released through the U.K. indie Animal Noise. After the album's release, Round went on an extensive tour with Glenn Tilbrook. She returned in 2004 with The Disconnection, her Interscope debut. 2006's Slow Motion Addict was produced by Glen Ballard and featured a more accessible, electronic-embellished sound. The album was released in the U.S. a year later.
