Jamie Scott, the hit songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will make his solo debut this year on Virgin Records with the digital release of his album, My Hurricane on October 7th.
Over the last half-decade, in between writing and producing for hitmakers like One Direction (“Story of my Life,” “You & I,” “More Than This”), Christina Perri featuring Ed Sheeran, Ron Sexsmith, Enrique Iglesias, Marsha Ambrosius and making waves with his Northern soul/indie-pop project Graffiti6 – singer/songwriter Jamie Scott began working on a batch of intensely personal songs sparked by his recently becoming a father and husband. Now with his new solo record, Scott has brought those songs together to create an album that’s unabashedly emotional but gracefully sophisticated in both its lush and lovely, ’70s-folk-rock-influenced sound and intimate storytelling of an autographically inspired couple.
And with the soaring lead single “My Hurricane,” Scott offers up an all-out, devil-may-care love song that perfectly embodies the album’s irrepressible and infectious spirit.
On August 5th, Jamie kicks off a busy month with his TV debut on Conan performing the showstopping “Unbreakable,” featuring a string quarter and heart-melting lyrics. On the same day, fans will be able to receive both “My Hurricane” and “Unbreakable” as instant downloads when the album becomes available for pre-orders on August 5th.
Rounding out the rest of August, Jamie heads out on the road with One Republic beginning on August 13th. And just added today, Jamie will reunite with his old friends One Direction as main support for their shows in Dallas and St. Louis.
