formed in Los Angeles in the spring of 2010 after?Brad Hooks?and?Sari Mellafe?met through mutual friends who pointed out the complimentary style of their vocals and tastes in music. The two formed a quick bond and started writing together making piano and guitar focused music that was at once organic, yet big in nature and managed showcased both of their voices together in harmony. Excited to get started they demoed up just a couple of songs and were approached by a hand-full producers impressed by their effortless harmonies and moving songs. After they made the rounds, the clear choice was to work with producer Jim Roach who had recently started his label Red Parade Music. They signed with him a couple of weeks later.?Brad Hooks moved to California from North Carolina at a young age where he started his ? lifelong obsession with the piano. Starting classically, it didn’t take long for Brad to discover the excitement of crafting a well written song. Sari Mellafe, a seasoned guitarist, performer and native of Santiago Chile, picked up the guitar as a teenger. Her father, a renowned classical guitarist in Chile, tried to steer her away from a musical career but inadvertently inspired her to do just that. The Young Romans first EP “Yesterday Night” was recorded and released in the fall 2010 while the band started to play countless shows and became a favorite at the famous L.A. venue Hotel Cafe. After a full year spent in the studio, and having the luxury of time to develop and hone their songs and sound with Jim Roach, the whole team decided that out of the twenty-plus songs recorded, there was enough great material to put eleven songs that they could all be 100% proud of and that might put them on the map. Their first full length album “Tiger Child” comes out on Red Parade Music on March 6th 2012 and will be featured as iTunes “Indie Download of the Week” with a free download of their single “New Beginning.” Within the same week, one of the songs from the record “Where You Go” is the end credit track in the anticipated Ewan McGregor / Emily Blunt movie “Salmon Fishing In The Yemen,” which releases in theatres on
