Big Giant Circles

Jimmy Hinson, (Big Giant Circles) is a video game music composer best known for his work on Mass Effect 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Puzzle Juice, Extreme Road Trip 2, and Pocket Mine. Despite his best-known work falling difinitely into the AAA game category, one of Jimmy's true passions is classic video game music and chiptune (8-bit and fakebit) music. Rooted in the video game remix community OverClocked Remix (ocremix.org), Jimmy acquired and learned the ropes of FL Studio, later being appointed the honor of becoming one of the companies &Power Users&. Under Jack Wall, the Mass Effect 2 and Black Ops 2 scores received several awards and nominations, including a BAFTA Game nomination for Best Original Score. In 2009, Jimmy was also the first remixer to collaborate directly with a game’s original composer on a video game remix (Deus Ex - Siren Synapse, featuring Alexander Brandon).
 
Prior to writing for games, Jimmy has composed for a variety of other media, including television, film, and radio. His custom music has been heard on over 30 television shows across various networks including Fox, Animal Planet, HGTV, and others and been featured in Guitar Center retail stores nationwide.
 
In 2011, Jimmy released his first original music album. A video game music style album of hybrid modern electronic music and chiptunes. It was the top selling album during the week of its release on Bandcamp.com. Since then, Jimmy has released 9 other albums of original music and game soundtracks.
 
Originally from Knoxville, TN, Jimmy currently resides in Dallas, TX. He enjoys video games, board games, and disc golf.
