Fay Brotherhood is an up and coming original folk singer/songwriter, originally from Coalville in Leicestershire, and residing in Nottinghamshire.
Possessing a unique style of traditional English folk musicianship, her songs, carry a distinctly pagan flavour of the traditional Bardic tradition. Her set encompasses interpretations of folk songs from the English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh traditions, alongside her own compositions; reflecting her love and passion for rural Britain in all its seasons, traditions, wildlife and history, rooted firmly in Charnwood Forest and the Leicester coalfield.
Although rooted firmly in traditional folk, 26 year old Fay Brotherhood is a powerful, confident and versatile vocalist having performed lead roles in various musical theatre productions, collaborated in a pop/folk recording project with Will Blake?, and produced works for a number of local arts events.
An accomplished and prolific songwriter, she has written and played guitar since age 14. Currently she has four or five albums worth of songs, of which she is in the process of recording, whilst fast filling her diary with gigs around North West Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire and creating a local fanbase.
