The history seems ancient me but for some, it is nonetheless important to know where I've been and what I've done. So to those this page should help. There's always the primitive form of communication, like using the telephone or even meeting for coffee. Maybe those days are gone.
Piano was something I gravitated to as a little baby. I've seen the photos of me in a diaper tickling the keys. I stayed with it throughout college, University of Massachusetts, Lowell and then moved to New Mexico stopped playing and started working at a recording studio. After a brief stay there, I moved to Los Angeles and continued to work in the industry and then somehow got burned out too fast and started to teach piano. Then I got a fun idea of starting a band and writing music and the first CD Colleen Grace was done. The music led to a publishing deal, which was very exciting and a heck of a lot easier than lugging the keyboard around to pay to play. Numerous tracks from the self-titled CD found its way onto television. Cold Case Files found a spot for the track Baby Jane. The Rosetta Hotel followed the self-title CD and It's Not Easy made its way into Army Wives. And, just for fun, Matt and I did a mini-tour of the Southwest and performed on Arizona’s morning show.
And that's lovely, Colleen, you say, but when did you start singing? Does singing horrible 80's metal tunes and annoying my big sister count as the pivotal time I decided to become a singer? I've always had a love of singing and started lessons in high school, some in college and then private lessons when I decided to write the first cd. In addition to the cds, I've recently sung on several commercials for healthcare and electric companies.
Furthering the history and a substantial part of it is my husband and producer, Matt Pavoliatis who if you check out IMDB.com you’ll see all his wonderful accomplishments. Also in no small part, these people left a mark upon my soul: My band mates and musician friends whom have joined me on stage and/or in the studio (and in no particular order): Rob Basilie, Frank Arellano, Cristian Hernandez, Pete Korpela, Mikey Wright, Brett Cookingham, Pekka Rintala, Colin Crowe, Deb V, John Ferraro, Todd Robertson, Pat Karamian, Jessica Kaskins.
